Anchor stranded cotton is a 6-strand embroidery thread made from extra-long, top-quality Egyptian cotton fibers. Each of these 6 individual strands is 2-ply. The practical packaging of the skein allows for the easy removal of the desired length of embroidery thread without having to unwind the entire skein.

Due to the flexible splitting of the thread, Anchor stranded cotton is the most widely used embroidery thread with many applications in almost all embroidery techniques. It is ideal for cross-stitch on fabrics of varying densities, as well as for surface embroidery, needlepoint, and other counted-thread embroidery styles.
