Our Bobbels explained:

Type - This refers to the color gradient.

Normal:
With a normal gradient, there are solid-colored sections. This means that every thread in that section is the same color.

Soft:
With a soft gradient, these solid-colored sections do not exist. In the finished product, this results in softer color transitions.

With companion yarn:
With a bobbel with companion yarn, one color runs alongside the other colors throughout the entire bobbel. This results in a continuous gradient.

Winding – this refers to the length of the individual sections.

Standard:
With standard winding, each section is the same length. Bobbels with this winding can be used well for shirts, sweaters, and straight scarves.

Shawl:
With shawl winding, each section is longer than the previous one. Bobbels with this winding are well suited for triangular shawls or semi-circular shawls that are worked from the center. In these, each row is longer than the previous one. With a bobbel with shawl winding, each color section is of equal width.

The difference between shawl winding and standard winding:

– With shawl winding, each color section is longer than the previous one. In a triangular shawl worked from the center, each row becomes longer than the previous one. Shawl winding takes this into account so that each color gets the same number of rows. In this case, the bobbel must be worked from the inside out.

– With standard winding, each color section is the same length.
